Thermal Diffusivity in Finite Cylindrical Specimens of Dental Cements

A procedure by which accurate thermal diffusivity values may be obtained from readily fabricated cylindrical specimens of restorative materials is described. Results obtained for polycarboxylate and glass ionomer cements are in the range 2-3 x 10-3 cm2 s-1 and are sensitive to compositional variables, including moisture content,
