Chemical Prevention of Calculus Formation in the Rat

The influence of an amidopolyphosphate on calculus formation in the rat was investigated. Topical applications of the agent administered twice daily at concentrations of 2.5 and 5% resulted in a significant decrease in calculus accumulation, whereas 1% solution was ineffective.
