Determination of Mercury in Parotid Fluid

The method described for the analysis of mercury in parotid fluid involves aeration-reduction of mercury and measurement of absorption of the evolved mercury at 2,537 A. This procedure is quick, sensitive, and accurate and does not require the extraction of the element from the sample before analysis. The standard deviation for the method was 0.479 for samples of parotid fluid containing from 6 to 31 ng mercury per milliliter.
