Figure 4. AN-0128 reduces alveolar bone loss. We induced periodontitis by placing ligatures around the right and left second molars for 7 days. Molar teeth were treated with 5% AN-0128 (5% AN), vehicle alone (V), or Total toothpaste (T) on a daily basis. One control group had no ligatures (NL), and another had ligatures placed but no treatment (Lig). Bone volume (A) or bone loss (B) was assessed by micro-CT. Results represent the mean of 6 animals ± SEM. *Significantly different compared with ’ligature only’ (P < 0.05).
