Segregation in Precious-metal Dental-casting AlloysInstitute of Dental Research, Vinohradská 48, Prague 2, 120 60 The Czech Republic
Institute of Dental Research, Vinohradská 48, Prague 2, 120 60 The Czech Republic The aim of this study was to conduct a theoretical analysis of segregation in Au-Ag-Cu and Ag-Pd-Au-Cu dental-casting alloys, and to confirm and extend the results experimentally. Both theoretical and experimental data showed greater segregation in the Ag-Pd-Au-Cu alloy than in the Au-Ag-Cu alloy. There was very little segregation of gold, zinc, and platinum, while between the dendrites copper increased and silver and palladium decreased.
