Effects of Fatigue on a Soldered Base Metal AlloytDepartment of Metallurgical Engineering
Department of Restorative Dentistry, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada V6T 1W5 An in vitio tensile fatigue test produced cyclic loading of joints made in a base metal casting alloy with a low-temperature precious metal solder, and the number of cycles to failure was recorded for a range of cyclic stresses. The majority of the joints survived stresses that should represent normal intra-oral loading.
