On Creep Mechanisms in Amalgams
H. Herø
NIOM, Scandinavian Institute of Dental Materials, Forskningsveien 1, Oslo 3, Norway
Creep mechanisms have been investigated in both conventional and non- 2 amalgams. The back stress during steady-state creep was measured by the "stress-dip" technique, and pre-polished vertical surfaces of nearly cylindrical specimens were studied after creep. Indications of both superplastic flow and dislocation creep were observed.
