Laboratory of Biological Structure, Skeletal Matrix Biochemistry Section, National Institute of Dental Research, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland 20205 High molecular weight enamelin proteins were recovered from conventional acetic acid extracts of fetal bovine enamel and were analyzed by gel filtration and ion-exchange chromatography. This procedure is simple and straightforward, and recovers approximately half of the total tissue enamelin content.
