Departments of Periodontics, Oral Pathology, and Oral Biology, School of Dentistry, University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky 40292 In order to obtain additional information about the prevalence of juvenile periodontitis, a retrospective, cross-sectional study was performed utilizing the dentulous patient pool of an urban dental school. For a one-year period, 2.4% of patients between the ages of 13 and 30 were found to have juvenile periodontitis.
