-methyl-p-tyrosine plus dihydroxyphenylserine resulted in a significant drop of CD50 to 69 and 175 mg/kg for lidocaine and procaine, respectively. Serotonin depletion by pre-treatment with p-chlorophenylalanine resulted in a significant drop of CD50 to 68 mg/kg for lidocaine, but no significant change for procaine.
