Storage of Human Periodontal Ligament Cells in a Combination of Different MediaSchool of Dentistry, Department of Oral Pathology, Box 4064, S-141 04 Huddinge, Sweden Different types of storage media have been studied for use in the replantation of exarticulated teeth. It was found that human periodontal ligament cells survived well in milk. Fifty percent of the cells were viable after 12 hours' storage in milk, while no cells were viable after three hours' storage in saliva. Brief storage in saliva followed by subsequent storage in milk was better than storage in saliva only.
