Lymphatic Vessels of the Human Dental Pulp

Sol Bernick

Department of Anatomy, School of Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California 90033, USA

Lymphatic vessels of the human pulp were traced in noncarious human teeth. Lymph capillaries originated as blind sacs among the odontoblasts and in the pulp proper. They emptied into thin-walled, irregular-shaped collecting vessels that accompanied veins in their course through the pulp. The conducting vessels pass through the root as individual units before exiting through the apical foramens.
