Microprobe and X-ray diffraction analysis of a Ag, Sn, and Au spherical alloy showed a β (Ag-Sn) and {gamma} (Ag-Sn) structure with Au substituted for Ag and small areas of Sn-Au segregation. The {gamma}2 Phase was not detected in amalgams made from this alloy after a short period of aging. The reaction phases were determined to be AuSn 2 and AuSn4.
