Specification Test for the Solubility and Disintegration of Dental Cements: A Critical Evaluation of Its MeaningLaboratory of the Government Chemist, Cornwall House, Stamford Street, London SEI 9NQ, England The meaning of this test and its relationship to the cement-forming reaction is discussed. It cannot be used to compare different classes of cement and has little meaning if the products of hydrolysis are insoluble or volatile.
