Protection Against Harmful Effects of a Restorative Procedure Using an Acidic Cavity CleanserDepartment of Operative Dentistry, Dental Faculty, University of Oslo, Oslo, Norway The protective qualities of a Ca(OH)2-containing base used in an acid etch restorative procedure were investigated in a histological study on monkey teeth. The Ca(OH) 2-containing base prevented the harmful pulpal responses found in unlined etched cavities restored with a composite resin.
