Harvard School of Public Health and Forsyth Dental Center, Boston, Massachusetts 02115, USA A technique is described for the estimation of fluoride (F) in enamel samples of varying weight. The data are used to derive a generalized relationship of F to sample weight that permits the adjustment of any observed F value to the "expected" value at a standaidized weight.
