An Electromyographic Feedback Technique for Teaching Voluntary Relaxation of the Masseter Muscle

A muscle relaxation training technique that provides a person with immediate auditory or visual feedback of his electromyographic activity was developed. The forty subjects who received feedback reduced their masseter electromyographic activity significantly more than the 40 subjects who did not receive feedback.
