Davies Rose Hoyt Pharmaceutical Division, The Kendall Company Research Center, Barrington, Illinois 60010, USA, 10513 Montrose Avenue, Bethesda, Maryland Fluoride concentrations in deciduous enamel of children who chewed or did not chew sodium fluoride tablets over a three year period were determined. Anterior and posterior enamel from children who used tablets contained 150 and 80 ppm more fluoride, respectively, at a depth of 5 µm than did enamel from the control group. The difference between tablet users and nonusers remained relatively constant during the study period.
